Keep Your Brand Protected for Another 10 Years
Last reviewed:
Your trademark is valid for 10 years only. After that, it expires and anyone can use your brand name. Renewing before expiry keeps your protection going without extra costs.
You can renew up to 1 year before expiry - no rush. But if you miss the deadline, you can still renew up to 6 months later. Just pay an extra ₹4,500 surcharge fee.
We handle the entire renewal process. You tell us your trademark details, and we submit everything to the government. Your brand stays yours for another 10 years.
If you don't renew within 6 months after expiry, your trademark is removed from the register permanently. Anyone in India can then use your brand name legally. We've seen business owners lose trademarks they built over 20 years because they forgot to renew. The cost of rebuilding a brand is much higher than ₹9,000.
After renewal, you must continue using your trademark on your products, packaging, or marketing. If someone files for cancellation and you can't show usage for 5 continuous years, the government can cancel your mark even if you renewed it. Keep invoices, photos, and advertisements as proof.
Many textile manufacturers, food brands, and traders across India have trademarks that were registered 8 to 10 years ago. If that sounds like you, check your registration certificate for the expiry date and contact us before it's too late.

Once 6 months pass after expiry without renewal, your trademark is removed from the register. Anyone can apply for that name. You would need to file a fresh application with new fees (₹4,500 or ₹9,000), and there's no guarantee you'll get it again.
Check your original registration certificate. It shows the registration date. Add 10 years to that date, and that's your expiry. If you can't find the certificate, share your trademark number and we'll check the status on the IP India website for free.
